Workplace Standards Tasmania administers legislation under the Minister for Workplace Relations.
IMPORTANT: Model Work Health and Safety laws did not commence on 1 January 2012 in Tasmania. On 1 December 2011, Tasmania’s Legislative Council amended the start date of the Work Health and Safety Bill 2011 to 1 January 2013. The Governor assented to the Work Health and Safety Act 2012 (incorporating the new start date) on 18 April 2012, and the Act is ready to come into effect on 1 January 2013.
